Resumen

The objective of this research study was to improve the Occupational Health and Safety Management in the Tannery "Piel Trujillo S.A.C." in order to reduce all types of occupational hazards within the company. This research was of the applied type, with a non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive scope. The study population included all areas of the tannery and as a sample the production areas of the company. The data collection techniques used were the survey, observation and documentary analysis. The findings of the study showed positive results, since compliance with Peruvian law N° 29783 improved from 38.24%, which was a disapproving score, to a current situation with a compliance percentage value of 96.47%. With respect to risk levels, the intolerable risk level was reduced by 10.71%, eliminating it definitively. In turn, important risks went from representing 35.71% to only 10.71%, a reduction of 25%. The research also showed that the risk reduction was statistically significant, so the results on occupational risks were 95% reliable. In summary, the study also determined the feasibility and relevance of improving Occupational Health and Safety management in small companies.
