Resumen
This research paper studies the effect of an alternative corrosion inhibitor, apricot juice in carbon steel, since carbon steel is one of the most used metals in the hydrocarbon industry. For the experiment we are used with carbon steel sheets exposed to a corrosive medium (A solution of H3PO4 with a concentration of 146.991 kg/m3), the sheets were worked without the presence of an inhibitor and with the presence of an inhibitor (with a concentration of 95.09 kg/m3) respectively. The mass loss was determined for each case and the corrosion rates and the percentage of inhibitor efficiency (IE %) were obtained, the results obtained a corrosion rate of 2.701 × 10-6 kg/m2.s (430.6 MPY) for the process without inhibitor and a corrosion rate of 7.940×10-7 kg/m2.s (126.5 MPY) with an IE % of 70.6 for the process with inhibitor. Likewise, a mathematical model was generated in which the corrosion rate was introduced as a dependent variable and the temperature, concentration of the medium and of the inhibitor as independent variables, from which a clear influence between the temperature and the concentration of the electrochemical corrosion rate inhibitor, while the concentration of the medium does not have a significant influence on the concentrations of 97.994 to 146.991 kg/m3
