Resumen

INTRODUCTION. Acute pyelonephritis is the most serious form of urinary infection, it most frequently affects young women. OBJECTIVE. Design a personalized nursing care plan for a person with recurrent acute pyelonephritis. MATERIALS AND METHODS. case study in a 23-year-old woman, treated in the medical hospitalization service for presenting with acute pyelonephritis. The nursing process methodology was used based on the taxonomies of diagnoses, outcomes and nursing interventions and Marjory Gordon's functional patterns. RESULTS. Four diagnoses were prioritized: impaired urinary elimination, acute pain, hyperthermia and ineffective self-management. In planning, a personalized plan was developed based on nursing results: urinary elimination, pain level, thermoregulation, knowledge: infection control. The nursing interventions carried out were: management of acute pain, management of urinary elimination, treatment of fever, protection against infections and teaching of the disease process. The evaluation of indicators showed an average change score of +3. After a week of hospital stay, the person was discharged. CONCLUSION. Designing a care plan based on the NANDA, NOC, NIC taxonomy and the assessment of Marjory Gordon's functional patterns is effective in offering quality and holistic nursing care in people with acute pyelonephritis, benefiting their recovery by achieving the expected results and patient discharge.
