Resumen
The objective of this study is to numerically model the calculation of supply replenishment in an electric power distribution company in northern Peru to reduce the monetary value of its inventories. The approach is quantitative and the design is quasi-experimental. To this end, the constraints of an appropriate replenishment model were defined by interviewing logistics managers from the last 10 years. The operational applicability of each of the current calculation models was then evaluated. Based on this, a multi-product, multi-period replenishment model appropriate to the company’s conditions was proposed. The designed replenishment model was then experimentally applied for 9 months to a convenience sample of 10 SKUs due to company restrictions, and a comparative analysis of the results was performed. The research concludes that the proposed model can be applied in a single periodic review to multiple SKUs with different types of demand, delivery times, unit prices, and source proximity, achieving an average reduction in valued stock by 69.93%, proving its effectiveness and applicability to similar organizations.
