Resumen
This paper aims to reflect on an aspect that is not very developed in the study of ese eja: the syllable. The approach is based on a framework proposed by (Valero, 2019), which proposes that the minimum unit for accentual computation is the mora (μ) and not the syllable, and whose first and most important direct consequence is the distinction between light vowels (v = μ) and heavy vowels (V = 2μ). The aforementioned opposition allows us to reanalyze and explain phenomena hitherto considered anomalous (such as the final accents in a small number of words: anä ‘anteater’), but also to propose a new syllabic template, which is the purpose of this article, on the basis of which the patterns of resyllabication in word formation processes can be more clearly justified. © Los autores.
