Resumen
On many occasions and in different realities, aspects or qualities of the teaching professional that can contribute to greater teaching effectiveness have been neglected. In other words, the standards of professional education used so far in the evaluation of teacher performance forget that the teacher is a human being who has personal attributes or non-cognitive abilities; These characteristics will help students achieve true academic performance. The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of the non-cognitive skills of university professors on students in literature. A scoping review was conducted in the Scopus, WoS, and SciELO databases. The results showed that 12 articles were included according to the established inclusion criteria, from which four thematic areas were extracted that explained how the non-cognitive skills of university professors impact their students. It was concluded that the non-cognitive skills of university professors, such as motivation, social awareness, empathy and warmth, have a direct impact on the affective, behavioral and performance outcomes of their students.
