NLP-Based Mobile Application for the Automatic Generation of Learning Activities in Peruvian Universities

Talledo D.; Reategui C.; Huillca V. · Proceedings of the 2025 IEEE 32nd International Conference on Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Computing, INTERCON 2025 (2025) · DOI: 10.1109/intercon67304.2025.11244637

Resumen

This paper presents the development of a Natural Language Processing (NLP)-based mobile application for the automatic generation of learning activities for university students in Peru. The proposal addresses the limitations of traditional educational methods by utilizing NLP techniques to transform educational content, such as PDF documents and academic summaries, into interactive learning activities including multiple-choice quizzes, definition completion exercises, and concept matching games. The application integrates artificial intelligence to personalize the learning experience according to academic needs. The system follows a workflow that includes file upload, text extraction, automated content processing, and activity generation for mobile integration. Experimental validation was conducted with one hundred law students from both private and public universities in Lima, Peru, who were selected due to their frequent use of extensive textual documents that are suitable for testing the application's capabilities. The evaluation used the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology and demonstrated exceptional usability with a score of 82.175 out of 100, indicating high user satisfaction and effectiveness. The application successfully demonstrates the potential to improve traditional study methods and provides an accessible technological solution for enhanced educational outcomes in higher education contexts.
