Resumen
This study evaluated the effect of a music therapy program on emotional regulation in Psychology students. A quasi-experimental pre-post design was applied with a sample of 68 participants assigned to an experimental group (n=29) and a control group (n=39). The experimental group received eight sessions of music therapy. Results showed significant improvements in emotional regulation within the experimental group (p<0.001), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 0.902) and high statistical power (1-β = 0.954). No significant changes were observed in the control group. It is concluded that music therapy may be an effective means of improving emotional regulation among university students.
