Resumen
Mountain biking is a highly demanding sport, but beneficial for physical and mental health. However, there are certain sociodemographic and psychological characteristics of cyclists, particularly those who practice it in the Peruvian highlands in the Huarochirí province. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the psychological and sociodemographic characteristics of mountain cyclists who practice this sport in Huarochirí, specifically between the towns of Huinco and San Juan de Iris (Lima-Peru). 44 mountain bikers participated, 38 men (86.4%) and 6 women (13.6%) between 16 and 60 years old (Mage = 34.73, SD = 11.97). The results showed that the majority practiced cycling during the pandemic, have high self-efficacy and medium anxiety in the face of the pandemic. Nevertheless, being older, having adequate self-efficacy and cycling during the pandemic generated psychological well-being for them.
