Resumen
Introduction: It is important to treat water for its use and consumption, reduce turbidity through pretreatment of water from the Osmore River generated in flood and dry seasons, clarifying the water using natural or chemical polyelectrolytes that act as flocculation auxiliaries and are used widely used in conventional processes as a solution to the growing problem of contamination. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of the Moringa Oleífera seed as a biocoagulant for water pretreatment. Materials and methods: The water samples were taken in the dry and rainy seasons, in an altitudinal range of 40 to 200 meters above sea level, in flood and dry seasons. The Surface Water Sampling protocol was used according to Headquarters Resolution 010-2016-ANA. The water clarification analysis was carried out by a turbidity spectrophotometer. Results: Optimal dose is 1.35 ml in high turbidity with a sedimentation time of 30 min and 0.2 ml in low turbidity with a sedimentation time of 45 min, thus obtaining a turbidity removal in replicates greater than 95%. pH and Temperature did not present modifications since they were within the allowed standard. Conclusions: The optimal sedimentation time for high turbidity was 30 min with a 1 min agitation and a speed of 100 rpm and for low turbidity it was 45 min with a 1 min agitation and a speed of 100 rpm.
