Resumen
It is urgent to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and the planet's carbon footprint. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to generate green hydrogen through an electrolysis system powered by electrical energy obtained from renewable sources via a vertical wind turbine system with combined blades. Selecting the appropriate material for the electrolysis system is crucial to ensure optimal energy conduction in the form of heat. Another objective is to quantify the electrical energy production from the generation system and determine the amount of hydrogen produced in the electrolysis process. The methodology applied is an adaptation of VDI 2206, which is ideal for this system as it integrates mechanical and electrical components. The research results demonstrate the generation of electrical energy using the vertical wind turbine system with combined blades, producing 20 W of power, which can be scaled up to 180 W. In conclusion, hydrogen production is quantified by conducting the electrolysis process, where the anode (positive plates) extracts oxygen, and the cathode (negative plates) extracts hydrogen separately. The design and simulations were carried out using SolidWorks CAD software and its Flow Simulation plugin. The numerical quantification of hydrogen results in a hydrogen volume of 4,387.152 cm3/min. This outcome is based solely on the 45-ampere source, without considering voltage variability or the contact area of the plates.
