Resumen
Artisanal fishing plays a fundamental role in the economy and food security, especially in contexts characterized by emerging micro-enterprises. The objective was to design and validate a measurement model to assess competitiveness in artisanal fishing micro-enterprises, identifying critical areas and opportunities for improvement. Interviews, exploratory factor analysis (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and a descriptive study were conducted, allowing the structuring of eight key dimensions: business growth, market access, state promotion, regulatory framework, environmental sustainability, commercialization capacity, training, and product quality. The results reveal that 84.8% of micro-enterprises exhibit a high level of competitiveness, highlighting the need to strengthen aspects such as innovation, commercialization, and quality standards. The dimensions of state promotion and environmental sustainability emerge as strengths, while market access and product quality are priority areas for intervention. In conclusion, the study presents a comprehensive model for measuring competitiveness in artisanal fishing micro-enterprises, validating a questionnaire as an effective measurement tool. This made it possible to identify that state promotion is a strength, while market access and product quality require improvements.
