Resumen

In Peru, there are areas that lack basic services such as water, electricity, among others, due to the economic gap that exists in rural areas. In the present research, the design and simulation of a Model-Based Predictive Control (MBPC) system applied to a solar photovoltaic pumping system for areas or villages far from water and electricity services, forming an autonomous system. The work consists of several parts, which can be summarized in the modeling of a solar photovoltaic generator, the modeling and design of a PID-controlled charge controller, a battery bank, the modeling of the hydraulic pumping system, and finally the MBPC. One of the fundamental objectives is the level control of the storage tank of the photovoltaic pumping system, using for this purpose the MBPC, which compared to the response of a PI controller, presented an optimal response. The application of mathematical tools for modeling and design of each of the parts of the system, have been adequately addressed. The simulations of the control system behavior are performed using Matlab and Simulink. Obtaining an optimization of the response time of the MBPC that can be used in level control applications in water pumping systems.
