Resumen
Construction and demolition waste represents a serious environmental problem due to its large volume and the negative impacts it generates. In Peru, this situation is exacerbated by the accumulation of waste in illegal dumps, poor urban planning, and lack of citizen participation. This study investigates the influence of construction and demolition waste management on urban environmental quality. A survey was conducted among project managers of 84 households in the city of Cusco, using an ordinal logistic regression model. A significant relationship was found between waste management and urban environmental quality, highlighting the importance of planning, organization, and supervision. However, the waste characterization study did not show a significant effect. The results underscore the urgency of improving construction and demolition waste management with clear regulations and awareness, emphasizing the importance of material reuse and intersectoral collaboration to address environmental challenges.
