Resumen
The purpose of this project is to commission the electrical system for the main power source of the overhead crane, located in the leaching area of the Cajamarquilla refinery, in order to improve the availability and safety of its operation. Data collection began on the current status of the overhead crane. It was detected that the most common failure occurred in the electrical supply system. To identify areas for improvement, an analysis of the current status of the equipment was performed. The goal was to plan and determine what type of system could replace the current one, given that the system presents deficiencies that render the equipment inoperative, causing delays in scheduled crane work. The current condition of the equipment does not ensure safe working conditions, putting the employees who use it at risk. Two different electrical systems for overhead cranes were identified that could replace the existing one: The C-Track System and the Extensible System. Finally, an economic evaluation of the two systems was completed, considering both cost and installation time.
