Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the relationship between local identity and archaeological heritage in the district of Llata (Huánuco, Peru), identifying the level of public perception and its influence on cultural appreciation. The study was basic in nature, with a quantitative correlational approach and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. A survey was conducted among 116 inhabitants of the urban area, selected by probability sampling for a finite population, with a confidence level of 95%. The results showed a low but significant positive correlation between the two variables (rho= 0.262; p= 0.005), indicating a weak relationship between the community and its pre-Hispanic heritage. It is concluded that poor heritage education, limited institutional action, and reduced community participation hinder the social appropriation of local archaeological heritage.
