Resumen
The LIMA abdominoplasty is a technique that addresses the body contour as an aesthetic unit and aims to improve body aesthetics by combining 360-degree liposuction and fat grafting in buttocks and hips, along with abdominoplasty, mixed muscle plication, and neoumbilicoplasty. Depending on the patient’s characteristics, one of the three surgical variants can be used: LIMA standard abdominoplasty (LIMA-S), “fleur de lis” (LIMA-F), and medium definition (LIMA-MD). This technique represents 20 years of surgical evolution by the senior author. The journey began in 2001 with the classic abdominoplasty, which was replaced by lipoabdominoplasty in 2004. Total body liposuction, mixed muscular plication in “fleur de lis,” and neoumbilicoplasty were then incorporated, consolidating the concept of LIMA abdominoplasty in 2014. The purpose of this work is to describe the surgical technique and present the results obtained. LIMA abdominoplasty has become the preferred method to contour the body and abdomen of most of our patients.
