Resumen
The objective of this study was to determine the influence of lifestyle on Burnout Syndrome (BS) among Peruvian religious leaders. Data were collected from a total of 205 participants. The study had a quantitative, non-experimental, explanatory, and cross-sectional approach. The proposed model was evaluated through structural equation modeling (SEM). The results revealed that lifestyle has a highly significant correlation with BS, however, no significant correlation is observed between Lifestyle and the Reduced Personal Accomplishment dimension of BS; Lifestyle showed a significant negative influence on the BS of religious leaders, (β = − 0.80; p <.001), with the model explaining 64% of the variance in the dependent variable (R2 = 0.64). The findings of this study suggest that some lifestyle habits such as social support, physical activity, sleep, and personality can protect against and/or mitigate the negative effects of BS. © The Author(s) 2026.
