Resumen
The present study aimed to analyze the impact and usefulness of various Lean Manufacturing tools within the industrial sector, with particular emphasis on their influence on process productivity in comparison with traditional methods or partially implemented practices. To this end, an exhaustive search was conducted in two major scientific databases, Scopus and Web of Science (WOS), initially yielding 1,213 documents. After applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, the sample was narrowed down to 40 studies considered the most relevant and impactful, predominantly focused on the manufacturing sector. The findings indicate that Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and the 5S methodology are the most extensively examined tools in the reviewed literature, highlighting their effectiveness in improving product quality, increasing productivity, and reducing operational costs. Additionally, the results reveal that active involvement from top management and the collective commitment of different organizational areas contribute to a more robust implementation of the Lean approach. This comprehensive engagement strengthens organizational culture, optimizes processes, and emerges as a determining factor in achieving efficient and sustainable industrial production.
