Resumen
Leadership is the ability to direct; however, it requires family and educational conditions that allow its development during people’s lives. Accordingly, the research carried out aims to analyze the predictive relationship between family and academic factors in leadership in international business administration students from a private university in Lima-Peru. The sample consisted of 228 students, of which 102 were women (43.6%) and 126 men (53.8%) between 16 and 44 years of age (Mage = 18.91, SD = 3.68). The results show that leadership is related to the educational level of the mother and father; but in the predictive analysis, the decisive influence is possessed by the educational level of the father; demonstrating that, the higher the educational level of the father, the greater the possibility that the son will be formed as a leader. However, it is questionable that the educational level of the mother cannot predict leadership in a context with educational differences by gender. Then, satisfaction and academic performance were related to leadership, but only academic performance predicts the conditions to be a leader.
