Knowledge absorption capacity and information technologies for learning enhancement in universities

Abarca Sánchez Y.; Barreto Rivera U.; Díaz Ugarte J.L.; Barreto Jara O. · Revista Venezolana de Gerencia (2023) · DOI: 10.52080/rvgluz.28.e9.3

Resumen

Knowledge absorption capacity, information technologies (IT) and learning have been studied separately, and the results have been applied to the real world; however, understanding the simultaneous interaction of the three variables is required to advance the theory. In this context, the intention of the study was to determine the causal relationship between these factors in universities, for which a population of 40489 university students and a probability sample of 655 students enrolled in the year 2021 in the universities of the Cusco-Peru region were considered. The research design corresponds to a non-experimental cross-sectional design. For hypothesis testing, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis techniques were used through structural equations. As a result, a new model of the interaction process between the study variables was developed, in which absorptive capacity is related to IT-mediated learning. The model developed is an indispensable tool for university decision making.
