Resumen
This systematic review aims to investigate the current use of the KANBAN methodology and its impact on the productivity of companies in the manufacturing sector. To this end, a meta-analysis was carried out based on the PRISMA method for filtering and selecting articles. The final selection of 32 articles extracted from Scopus and Proquest are no more than 5 years old, where 28.1% of the selection corresponds to publications from 2023, 21.9% of the selection corresponds to 2019, and 15.6% corresponds to 2021. Analyzing the country of origin, Peru is shown as the country with the highest contribution to the final selection with 21.9%, followed by India with 18.8% and Indonesia with 12.5%. The results indicate that implementing Kanban brings multiple benefits, including the tool's ability to significantly reduce inventory levels, freeing up capital and optimizing storage space. The reduction in inventory translates into lower storage, handling, and material obsolescence and deterioration costs. Additionally, Kanban facilitates a more fluid and synchronized production flow, eliminating bottlenecks, and reducing wait times between stages. The improved production flow translates into shorter delivery times for customers and a greater ability to respond to their demands.
