Resumen
This chapter develops Aníbal Quijano’s perspective that allows us to integrate the general theory, the categories of modernity, social classification and the new horizon of historical sense, with specific research on Latin America, the notions of “cholificación”, popular economy, culture of individualism and Fujimori’s political regime. It seeks to create, redefine and reconstruct knowledge from the borders of the modern world. In this proposal, the common thread that runs through all of his thinking is the coloniality of power, social knowledge that exposes the most original alternative to overcome Eurocentrism.
