IoT Platform-based Control Module for Remote Monitoring of Low-power Three-phase Motors

Ichpas W.H.; Nunez J.C. · 2023 6th Asia Conference on Energy and Electrical Engineering, ACEEE 2023 (2023) · DOI: 10.1109/aceee58657.2023.10239564

Resumen

The objective of this research is to design a control module based on IoT platform for remote monitoring of low power three-phase induction motors, the module obtains voltage and current data through the PZEM-004T sensor and temperature data through the PT100 sensor; data processing, reading and writing of peripherals is performed by the Atmega 2560 microcontroller and for communication with the cloud the ESP32 microcontroller is used and the programming was developed in C++ language. The Ubidots IoT server was used to design the dashboard that allows displaying the parameters obtained from the induction motor in real time on any device connected to the internet; it also issues an alert via message to the smartphone and electric mail when one of the parameters exceeds the predetermined values, so that the user can make the decision to stop the motor remotely if necessary. As a result of the research, a functional prototype was obtained consisting of 4 subsystems: electricity, electronics, control and interface; the tests of the operation yielded satisfactory results because the parameters obtained were very close to the real ones due to the level of precision of the sensors used. This project is relevant because it uses a tool of the fourth industrial revolution.
