Resumen
The present study was oriented to the psychometric evaluation of a reduced proposal of 16 items of the CPIC Scale (Grych et al., 1992), which measures the perception of interparental conflicts from the children’s perspective. It was an instrumental study in which 840 school adolescents aged 12 to 17 years participated (M = 14.51, SD = 1.53, Females = 53.5%). Evidence of validity based on internal structure was assessed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) of different models, and the bifactor model had the best fit indexes (X2/df = 3.764, CFI =.968, TLI =.957, RMSEA =.057 [.051-.064] and SRMR =.033). The equity property by gender, age and family status was also assessed through factorial invariance. In all cases and levels of invariance, the values of Δ CFI and Δ RMSEA were <.01, which is mean that the construct is equivalent for the different groups analyzed. The internal consistency reliability of the factors ranged between .85 and .88, being acceptable values. In conclusion, it is evident that the CPIC-16 Scale has good psychometric evidence.
