Resumen
This article analyzes the internationalization of higher education in Library and Information Science at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, Universidad de Antioquia (UdeA), and Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos[cite: 15]. It proposes a general reflection on the internationalization model through a decolonizing perspective that responds to the Global South and its local and territorial needs, as well as an examination of the hegemonic competitiveness-driven model through a quantitative approach[cite: 15]. To this end, an analysis is conducted drawing on the theoretical and conceptual frameworks developed by both perspectives, with particular emphasis on the collaborative approaches of UdeA (Colombia) and UNMSM (Peru)[cite: 15]. Based on this reflection, a pathway for the internationalization of higher education in Library and Information Science is proposed, one that takes into account the empowerment of local and territorial actors without overlooking the challenges of accreditation, adaptation to the global context, and the competitiveness of higher education[cite: 15].
