Resumen

In order to analyze the evidence of validity of the internal structure, factorial invariance and reliability of the Brief Index of Religiosity and Spirituality (BMMR) in Peruvian citizens, an instrumental study was carried out with the participation of 622 individuals (58.7% women). The analysis of the internal structure was carried out through confirmatory factor analysis; reliability was calculated through the Omega coefficient as well as statistics for factorial invariance according to sex. The results confirm the two-factor structure of the BMMR (χ2 = 395.55, df = 89, p < .001, CFI = .972, TLI = .967, RMSEA = .074 [CI95% .67 - .082], SRMR = .053 and WRMR = 1.201) it is invariant, i.e. applicable for both sexes, and presents acceptable reliability (ω > .80). It is concluded that the BMMR is an instrument with a validated internal structure, reliable scores, and which is invariant in Peruvian citizens.
