Resumen

The objective of the research was to determine the influence of the application of learning strategies in the development of problem-solving abilities. The study was developed under a quantitative approach. The results allow us to show that the ability to solve problems in engineering students increases by 5.7 points. Regarding the study skills with the highest incidence in engineering students, it was resources demonstrating their self-concept in presenting better resolutions of measurement, ordering and coding problems with an average difference of 3.37 points and of the indicators the best result was the attitudinal ability to develop mathematical problems, reaching a mean difference of 1.1 points. It is concluded that the learning application significantly influences problem-solving abilities.
