Resumen
The literature on interest rates and productive credit has primarily developed from a macroeconomic perspective, neglecting its connection to other disciplines such as the social sciences. In this context, the present study aims to analyze the relationship between interest rates and the volume of productive credit using a bibliometric approach and exploratory empirical testing. The study was structured in two phases. First, bibliometric maps were created to identify relationships between terms and their evolution over time using VOSviewer software. Then, descriptive statistics and the Autoregressive Distributed Lag econometric model were applied, including lag selection, stationarity tests, cointegration, and parameter estimation. The results showed low integration among variables within the scientific literature, evidenced by poorly connected thematic structures and conceptual frameworks. A weak inverse association was also found between the interest rate and the volume of productive credit, suggesting that financing dynamics are influenced by multiple factors. It is concluded that the fragmentation identified in the literature and the observed empirical complexity constitute an opportunity to develop more integrative research approaches, with implications for the design of business financial training strategies.
