Resumen
The objective of this article was to explain how relevant it is to conduct interdisciplinary legal research with a qualitative approach. The methodological strategy adopted included the socio-critical paradigm and a qualitative approach with a documentary design. The results recognized the need to uphold a thesis that presents legal research as more contextually grounded and interconnected with knowledge from other social sciences and the humanities. This was suggested as a response to the persistent hegemony of legal dogmatics in the contemporary study of the legal phenomenon. In this vein, interdisciplinary categories arising from collaboration between law and disciplines such as philosophy, economics, literature, and sociology were addressed using methodological perspectives of a philosophical-legal, socio-legal, and comparative nature. In conclusion, interdisciplinary legal research finds its meaning in its practical and applied potential, which is grounded in a realistic and holistic view of law that recognizes the jurist’s engaged and situated interaction with the social context.
