Salas N.Y.C.; Riveros M.F.V.R.F.V.; Arias A.P.S.; Meza A.L.V.; Torres J.A.S. · Proceedings of the 2025 IEEE 5th International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies on Education and Research, ICALTER 2025 (2025) · DOI: 10.1109/icalter69698.2025.11355042

Resumen

This paper presents the development of a virtual reality (VR) video game based on the Neural Trainer usage protocol, a cognitive-motor training system designed to optimize coordination, reaction, and decision-making. The main objective was to transfer the physical Agility - 2-Color Sequence protocol into a three-dimensional immersive environment using the Unity 3D engine and Oculus Quest headsets, while maintaining the original system's functional structure and metrics. The development was implemented under a modular architecture, with scripts that generate visual stimuli, record performance data, and detect interactions using haptic controllers. Pilot tests were conducted with participants aged 817, comparing results obtained with the Neural Trainer physical device and the VR version. Preliminary results show a high correlation between the two environments (R2 0. 9), with similar accuracy and error performance and a slight difference in overall response times, attributable to adaptation to the headset. The virtual version demonstrated additional advantages, including immersion, user motivation, automatic metric recording, and flexible configuration, validating its potential as a cognitive and physical training tool in educational and sports contexts.
