Institutional scientific production: the case of the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco

Resumen

The objective of this study was to analyze the production and scientific collaboration networks of the Universidad Nacional de San Antonio Abad del Cusco (UNSAAC) in the Scopus database in the period 2000-2019. A descriptive, bibliometric study was conducted. The articles published in scientific journals indexed in the Scopus database that had at least one author with affiliation to the National University of San Antonio Abad del Cusco were analyzed. In the period studied, a total of 535 publications were found, of which 64.1% belonged to the area of Agricultural-Biological Sciences and Medicine; 80.6% were in English; 34.4% had a researcher with affiliation to UNSAAC as corresponding author; and the countries that collaborated most with UNSAAC were the United States and the United Kingdom. It is concluded that there was a growth in the scientific production of UNSAAC in recent years; most of the publications were made with the collaboration of other academic institutions (national or foreign).
