Innovación Technological Innovation in Agro-Exports: Applying Blockchain to Improve the Supply Chain in La Libertad

Resumen

This study proposes the implementation of blockchain technology in the supply chain of an agroexport company in La Libertad, Peru, in order to improve traceability, security and efficiency of logistics processes. Through a qualitative approach, based on interviews with blockchain technology experts, the impact of this innovation in key areas such as supplier management, agricultural practices, processing, inventory, transportation, distribution and customs management was examined. The results reveal that blockchain makes it possible to record every stage of the production cycle securely and immutably, from field to export, strengthening transparency, reducing fraud and improving operational efficiency. Likewise, its integration with technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart contracts broadens its applicability, facilitating real-time monitoring, automation and regulatory compliance. Experts agreed that, although there are barriers such as investment cost and resistance to change, the return in efficiency, competitiveness and access to markets justifies its adoption. In conclusion, blockchain not only optimizes logistics processes, but also drives the digital transformation of the Peruvian agroexport sector. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
