Polo Escobar B.R.; Hinojosa Salazar C.A.; Carranza Guevara R.; Aldea Román C.E. · Revista Venezolana de Gerencia (2023) · DOI: 10.52080/rvgluz.28.e10.15

Resumen

The appropriate use of information and communication technologies can have a transformative impact on work performance. The strategic adoption of these technologies enables effective and productive management of social programs, resulting in tangible benefits for society. The main purpose of this article is to examine the impact of information and communication technologies on the performance of professionals working in social programs in both urban and rural settings in Peru. Special attention is given to the employees of the Qali Warma Social Program in the Amazonas region during the years 2021 and 2022. The methodology used for this assessment was quantitative, correlational, prospective, cross-sectional, and analytical. The sample consisted of 60 social workers, and data were collected through a properly validated questionnaire with a significant reliability of 0.81 regarding information and communication technologies and 0.83 regarding work performance. The analysis conducted shows a positive, albeit modest, correlation between the use of information and communication technologies and work performance. The integration of digital technologies in social programs has the potential to promote digital literacy and digital inclusion among beneficiaries, which, in turn, can improve their employment prospects and personal development. In summary, this study confirms that the integration of new technologies into any organization contributes to optimizing productivity and enhancing the professional practice of employees. This is an area that needs to be emphasized to achieve the set goals and, consequently, improve the quality of life of urban and rural communities targeted by these programs.
