Resumen
Introduction: Food security should be a goal of countries to improve the flow, quality of food and nutrition. It is important to assess the food insecurity conditions of disadvantaged population segments. The objective of the study is to analyze the probability of occurrence of food insecurity and the effect of food flow, of poor and non-poor Peruvian vulnerable families in the period 2019-2021. Methodology: Quantitative, probabilistic and descriptive research; with a binary logit model and secondary data from the National Household Survey, considering variables linked to the dimensions of utilization, access, stability and availability. Results: The findings show significant explanatory variables: education, age, marital status, gas stove, access to drinking water, and family income and agricultural production. Discussion: A higher level of education and experience leads to improved conditions of healthy eating and the level of well-being. There is an inverse relationship between agricultural production and food insecurity. Conclusions: It is shown that, by increasing family income and agricultural production, the probability of food insecurity in Peruvian households is reduced. It is necessary to promote sustainable agricultural practices and government support for small-scale agriculture to ensure the flow of the food system.
