Incidental notes on some Grassatorean (Arachnida: Opiliones) types of the Senckenberg Naturmuseum (SMF) harvestmen collection

Pérez-González A.; Ayala-Apaza A.G.; Pereira M.P. · Zootaxa (2024) · DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.5405.4.7

Resumen

As part of the ongoing systematic revision of Lacurbsinae (Opiliones: Laniatores: Biantidae), Roewer's harvestmen collection deposited at the Senckenberg Naturmuseum (SMF), Frankfurt, Germany, was examined. In addition to the Lacurbsinae types, type specimens of various other Laniatores species, mainly Grassatores: Zalmoxoidea, were investigated at different depths. The goal of this correspondence is to compile the incidental observations made while reviewing those types and accordingly make the necessary taxonomic changes and/or corrections. Specimen images were taken with a TOUPCAMTM Industrial Digital Camera UCMOS01300KPA (http://www.touptek.com/) mounted on one ocular lens of a LEICA M165C stereomicroscope. The photos of specimen labels were taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ10 Digital Camera. Extended focus images were composed with Helicon Focus 6 (https://www.heliconsoft.com/). We thank Peter Jager, Julia Altmann, Jana Grueger, and Darko Cotoras for the kind reception and all the facilities provided during Abel Pérez-González's visit to the Senckenberg Naturmuseum (SMF) Harvestmen collection. Many thanks to Andrés Ojanguren Affilastro for lending us the TOUPCAMTM Industrial Digital Camera. We want to acknowledge Adriano B. Kury and one anonymous reviewer, as well as the Opiliones subject editor, Jeffrey W. Shultz, for the detailed revision and useful suggestions. Shahan Derkarabetian kindly performed the language editions on the first version of the manuscript.
