Resumen
This article presents an integrated strategy aimed at increasing the Perfect Order Rate in a Peruvian infant apparel manufacturing firm. The strategy interweaves Lean principles, SMED, TPM, and Standardized Work with the traceability provided by RFID reading. An operational reconfiguration serves as the starting point, centered on the systematic elimination of all elements that interfere with the flow. SMED reduces idle time during lot changes; TPM, through its preventive approach, ensures that critical equipment operates under stable conditions; and Standardized Work safeguards essential tasks from being left to each operator’s discretion. A network of RFID tags, positioned along the production line, captures the movement of each garment and transmits it to the control board, injecting real-time visibility. This proposal seeks to address failures that originate within the process itself and, in doing so, equips the plant to plan and comply with standards, even in scenarios characterized by high variability.
