Resumen
Companies seek to improve their supply chains by monitoring and controlling processes to ensure their customer's preference for their services. In this sense, Lean Sustainable Logistics (LSL) emerges as an option for firms focused on increasing the performance of shipments by minimizing the delivery time of orders. This study evaluates freight transport company's capability to improve the percentage of perfect orders by implementing Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), a tool of LSL. Additionally, LSL's implementation was seen as a way to reduce the impact of transportation on the environment since it is a large contributor to Greenhouse gas (GRG) emissions. Our results show an improvement of perfect orders by 5.4% and a decrease of GRG emissions by 12%. Our study supports small freight transport companies adopting LSL as an economically viable technique to increase operational efficiency, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability.
