Resumen
The present work focuses on the manufacturing industry, specifically in the brewing sector's production area, where issues such as quality problems with beer cans, delays in the filling line, waste, and excess costs were identified. Consequently, the following question was posed to address these challenges: "What lean manufacturing tools contribute to waste reduction in production areas within manufacturing industries?" In response to this query, the use of strategies such as 5S, which fosters a culture of cleanliness and recycling to prevent contamination in cans, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) to identify root causes of quality issues, Kanban to reduce defects caused by prolonged storage or overproduction, and continuous improvement practices were highlighted. The outcome of the study indicated that these tools are widely advocated by various authors to enhance different aspects of the production stage. Therefore, the conclusion drawn was to implement these tools in the production area to mitigate excess costs, improve filling processes, and minimize waste.
