Resumen
This article reports the findings of a pre-experimental study that explored how the implementation of strategies grounded in the Montessori method supports the development of autonomy in four-year-old children. The research involved a single group assessed before and after the intervention using a validated observation guide that measured dimensions such as decision-making, self-management, and problem-solving. Data were analyzed through the paired t-test, yielding statistically significant differences in overall autonomy (t = -13.653; p = 0.000). The results show that initially, 62% of the children were at a low level of autonomy, whereas after the intervention, 85% reached a high level. These outcomes confirm the effectiveness of the Montessori approach in enhancing independence, confidence, and responsibility in early childhood education. © LEIRD 2025.All rights reserved.
