Resumen
The policies that promote trade opening are crucial for a nation's economic development and the performance of its productive sectors. The objective of this research is to determine the impact of external openness on the specialization of Peruvian fruit and vegetable exports. The study draws on theoretical foundations that emphasize the role of the State in promoting agricultural exports and export-led growth in fruits and vegetables. The research employs both descriptive and quantitative methodologies and uses econometric models to analyze statistical sources. The findings reveal that the fruit export sector is growing at an annual rate of 18%, while the vegetable sector is growing at a rate of 15%. The study demonstrates that Peru's trade liberalization policies have had a positive impact on the specialization of these sectors. The commercial opening strategy pursued by the Peruvian State has played a key role in the specialization of the fruit and vegetable sector.
