Resumen

The growth and production of Tabasco chili are limited by various fertilization, edaphoclimatic and biotic factors. This study evaluated the influence of Bacillus subtilis on the growth of Capsicum frutescens cultivars by characterizing plant conditions before and after treatment. The research was carried out in the Mayo river basin, in the district and province of Moyobamba, San Martín, Peru, between 76.98° and 76.99° west longitude and 6.05° and 6.06° south latitude, according to the WGS 1984 geographical coordinate system. The experiment followed a completely randomized block design with four treatments and three replicates each. A total of 48 Tabasco chili plants were planted at 40 cm spacing per experimental unit. Field data on plant height and leaf length were processed and presented using box plots and numerical tables. The results showed that after 30 days, plants treated with B. subtilis reached heights of 18.0 cm and leaf lengths of 3.9 cm. After 60 and 90 days, plants treated with B. subtilis reached heights of 43.2 and 110 cm, respectively, with corresponding leaf lengths of 16.2 and 23 cm. It was concluded that the application of B. subtilis at a concentration of 250 mL B. subtilis + 750 mL water significantly enhanced the growth of Tabasco chili as measured by plant height and leaf length at different stages of development.
