Resumen
This research presents a quantitative assessment of photovoltaic generation system impacts on residential electricity consumption within the Cotos Rural Community, Capachica Peninsula, situated at 3,860 meters above sea level in Puno, Peru. Electrical consumption patterns from 22 households were analyzed across two temporal periods: pre-installation and post-installation of a photovoltaic facility with 313,357 kWh annual capacity, deployed across 245 m2 with 35m × 7m configuration, 7-degree tilt angle, and 40-degree azimuthal orientation. The methodology incorporated Pareto principle-based stratification to determine proportional distribution of energy demand among dwellings. Results reveal aggregate consumption reduction from 641.35 kW to 344.47 kW, representing a 46.29% decrease in total demand. Average household consumption decreased from 30.54 kW to 15.65 kW, equivalent to 48.76% reduction. Pareto analysis identified that 27.3% of households concentrated 46.8% of total pre-intervention consumption, providing partial validation of the 80/20 rule. Findings demonstrate photovoltaic system effectiveness in high-altitude Andean communities and provide quantitative evidence for rural electrification project planning through renewable energy sources in geographically similar contexts.
