HUMAN PERSON AND ENGAGEMENT The personal realism of Paul Ludwig Landsberg; [A PESSOA HUMANA E O EMPENHAMENTO O realismo pessoal de Paul Ludwig Landsberg]

Quiceno Osorio J.D. · Prometeica (2025) · DOI: 10.34024/prometeica.2025.32.19647

Resumen

The paper focuses on the reflection on the person as a being in devenir (Werdesein) in the thought of Paul Ludwig Landsberg. The German philosopher, who is almost unknown in the contemporary philosophy, had abundant links with important philosophers of the twentieth century. Among them, Max Scheler, Romano Guardini, Edmund Husserl, Max Horkheimer and Emmanuel Mounier. These links deeply influenced his thought and led him to produce an excellent anthropological synthesis that until now remains almost unknown in the philosophical panorama of the West. The intention of the text, then, in addition to addressing the connection between person, commitment and personalization as one of the central reflections of his philosophy, is to open spaces of interest for a series of investigations into the life and work of the author.
