Resumen
— The purpose of this study was to determine whether heuristic strategies influence learning styles in students of analytical geometry at a public university in Peru. Through a longitudinal quasi-experimental design. The study sample consisted of 50 students belonging to the second cycle of the professional career of Mathematics, Computer Science and Informatics of the National University "Jorge Basadre Grohmann". The results showed that students in the experimental group after the application of heuristic strategies had a significant impact on learning styles, linked to processing strategies of relating, structuring, critical processing, memorizing and rehearsing, as well as external regulation, motivational orientation of learning and conceptions of learning with respect to the control group. It was concluded that the more heuristic strategies are applied, the greater the incidence in the development of learning styles, allowing valuable learning processes to generate problem-solving skills in the area of mathematics.
