Resumen
This article presents a grid-connected high-frequency solar inverter capable of operating in countries where their electric infrastructure or electric normative framework does not allow solar photovoltaic (PV) micro-generation in urban environments. The proposed inverter is based on an isolated single-state Dual - Active - Bridge Series - Resonant (DABSR) DC/AC converter. Unlike other DABSR structures, a full-wave Cycloconvert is used in the topology to convert the high-frequency AC into the desired line-frequency AC output without the necessity of unfolding bridges. The phase shift modulation strategy is applied to control the power flow. A modified version of the conventional Perturb and Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm is developed to ensure an instantaneous self-consumption with zero injection to the electricity grid. Finally, simulations are shown to verify the functionality of the inverter.
