Resumen
In the present investigation, a theoretical analysis of gratitude is made, to from there, carry out a psychometric analysis of the Gratitude Scale and assess the results obtained in a comparative way, in a sample of students and workers from the city of Arequipa, southern Peru. For this, a sample of 413 people was taken, 49.6% men and 50.4% female with an average age of 20.83 years within a range of 16 to 36 years. The Gratitude Scale created and validated by Alarcón in Peru, which has the dimensions of Reciprocity, Moral obligation and Sentimental quality. The psychometric analysis was carried out with exploratory and confirmatory factorial analysis, while the comparisons were made using parametric statistics. The results suggest that the scale has a three-dimensional structure, with adequate reliability indexes, but item 18 had to be eliminated and the distribution of the items in the three dimensions varies slightly with respect to the original version. Finally, there were no differences in gratitude based on gender, but there were differences between students and workers, both in interfactorial correlations and in age.
