Resumen
This research analyzes the correlation between globalization and business practices in the service sector of intermediate cities in Peru (Cusco), Mexico (Tlaxcala), and Colombia (Popayán). A quantitative, exploratory-descriptive methodology was employed, using semi-structured surveys as the primary measurement instrument. The surveys were administered to a population of 169 Colombian, Mexican, and Peruvian companies. Descriptive statistical analysis was used to observe the distribution and verify the initial correlation between key variables. An Ordered Probit Multiple Alternatives Model was estimated, using the categories of change in the company's business model as the dependent variable. The statistical software R was used to calculate regression coefficients, allowing for the identification of the impact of globalization on business and cultural transformation. To validate the model, Brant's test was applied, which assesses compliance with the assumption of parallel regressions. The results demonstrate that globalization exerts a significant influence on business practices in the service sector of the analyzed cities, particularly through the processes of digitalization and internationalization. It is concluded that Information and Communication Technologies are the factor most consistently associated with greater business transformation.
