Resumen
This research aims to demonstrate how the ghostly images in Real life of Alejandro Mayta take a path in the opposite direction that are characterized by the correspondent processes of demystification and confirmation. The successive and variable images of Mayta and Lima serve as marks or milestones in the composition of possible worlds within the novel. In this way, the process of symbolization represents the impossibility of access to reality (or the Real) and generates a metafictional scheme by which the novel is an authentic “work in progress”, writing itself while questioning its imaginary elements.
