Resumen
Civil engineers are responsible for the design, management, projection, and construction in the area of geotechnics and roadways. In the CE.010 "Pavement Regulations" standard, in its section 6.4, the foundations are established to justify the need for pavement rehabilitation, indicating the application of inspections that allow determining the condition of the road and executing the required rehabilitation. Highways are vital for the development of Peru, facilitating access, communication, and the economic growth of society. Therefore, concerns arise regarding the high costs and the low quality of inspections due to the outdated methodology of the regulation, which has not been updated for fourteen years despite current scientific and technological advances. Thus, it is proposed to generate efficiency in the inspection of the pavement condition by implementing the remotely piloted aircraft system (RPAS) and thereby update the regulation by incorporating a detailed methodology that relates the roughness index. The use of RPAS allows for efficient identification of the IRI in pavements, generating advantages compared to the Merlin. This facilitates management and increases productivity in evaluation work through the established objectives: to determine how the implementation of the remotely piloted aircraft influences efficiency, as well as how the use of RPAS influences performance, data quality, and operations in generating efficiency in the inspection of the pavement condition at Panamericana Sur Km 16.3, in Villa El Salvador, year 2024.
